My why
I believe that yoga is a tool for life.
Yoga is a practice that is available and can benefit anyone, regardless of age or physical ability. Filled with inquiry and wonder, yoga offers us a mind/body approach to navigating life ups and downs with more ease and grace. My passion for teaching the aging population was born out of my own journey, adjusting to and accepting the mental and physical challenges presented to an aging athlete. I discovered that the gifts of yoga are accessible to anyone who has the desire to feel better, and live a healthier and more joyful life.

My Yoga Journey
All my life, I have been physically active, pursuing dance, karate, and weight training. Movement is critical for my well-being and as I age, my focus is on ensuring longevity by building strength, increasing and maintaining mobility, and enhancing balance. I came to yoga in my forties after years of challenging my body athletically. When the demands of those endeavors caught up to me, it was the mental aspect of yoga that served me the best. The meditation, and cultivating compassion and kindness for myself is what helped to reduce my stress, depression, and pain. The teachings of yoga have taught me the power of presence, to be here and now, and celebrate what I can do rather than dwell on what I cannot.
